An Exciting Start!

Term 4 has really started with great potential for an exciting 11 weeks.

In particular, there is a lot of great Maths happening across the school.

We have started our Getting Ready in Numeracy (GRIN) program this week. This term we have invited our Year 3's to join the program to develop their fluency and confidence in the maths classroom.

The Victorian High Achievers Program (VHAP) has also commenced this week for those selected students with both a Maths and English online class.

Our MRPS LEAP program has started as well. This term it has been offered to Years 3 - 6 students who have shown enthusiasm for Maths. Our first lesson was on Monday where we set ourselves up for successful group work. This involved discussing what we do and don't like group members to say and do. We then put that into practice with a short Maths game which had students collaborating to make the target number with others using any operation(s) they needed to. There was much discussion to be had! 

I'm looking forward to a great term of Maths at MRPS.
