Principal's Report 

 We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people. May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

Well Wishes to Becca

We extend our warmest wishes to Becca, who will begin her family leave at the end of this week, with her last day being Friday 17th October. Becca has made a valued contribution to our administrative team and the sick bay, and has built wonderful connections with students, families and staff. We wish Becca all the very best as she prepares for this exciting new chapter and look forward to hearing her wonderful news in the coming weeks.

School Crossing 

Please have regular conversations at home with your child to reinforce the importance of crossing safely and following road rules. This helps keep all students safe on their way to and from school. We are fortunate to have three friendly crossing supervisors who support students in arriving and departing school safely.

Staff Car Park Reminder

A friendly reminder that the staff car park is for staff use only. For the safety of our students, we ask that families and students do not enter or walk through the staff car park at any time. Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us keep everyone safe during busy drop-off and pick-up times.

Inclusion and Engagement Online Parent/Carer Session – Making Sense of Sensory Processing (Wednesday 29th October 6pm)

Miners Rest Primary School is excited to host an online presentation with Senior Occupational Therapist Emma Farrell from OT Dynamic. This session, designed for parents and carers, will explore Making Sense of Sensory Processing - understanding your child’s everyday experience.

K-F Transition

We are excited to commence our transition sessions for enrolments for 2026 Foundation this Friday. This Friday, we will host all of the children, and families, from kindergartens other than Miners Rest Kindergarten. 

2026 Classes Placements

We are in the process of configuring classes for 2026. If you wish to share information about your child that will support successful placement in a class for 2026, please make an appointment with Kylie Nissen, via the school email address. Requests for an appointment to discuss 2026 class placement must be received no later than Friday 31st October.
