MINI MUSICAL HOLIDAY PROGRAM - RECAP

We held our very first Mini Musical Workshop in the first week of the holidays for twenty Year 5 and 6 students from around Alice Springs.

It was held over five days, and at the end of the workshop the students staged a performance (an abridged version of Matilda Jr). They performed some of the scenes and three of the song and dance numbers, put it all together, and performed for an audience of almost one hundred people, which was very exciting.

All the students were super enthusiastic and cooperative all week. It was wonderful to see them take on everything that we were teaching them in terms of performing, learning music, singing, developing character and learning choreography. They even got to wear some of the costumes from the production, which was wonderful to see them get used again. Even the Amanda doll had another performance being flung around on the stage.

I'd like to thank Rachel Moyle, our Year 12 Drama Captain, and Tanaka Gundani, our Year 10 Drama student, who both came every day, helped a lot and were great inspiration for our young people.

There is talk about holding one again next year so watch this space!
