Principal's Message

To Strive, To Seek, To Care with HEART

Dear Parents and Friends,

I hope the two-week break gave you and your family a chance to rest, reconnect and recharge after a busy Term 3. It’s also been a valuable time for reflection and goal setting as we head into the final stretch of the school year.

Many of our senior students, especially those completing Year 12 subjects, used the holidays to study and prepare for upcoming exams, taking advantage of our open library. My sincere thanks go to the Year 12 teachers who came in during their own break to support these students - your dedication is deeply appreciated.

We’re delighted to welcome Mrs Riteshni Devi (Maths and Science) and Ms Georgia Kelly (French) to our teaching team this term, as well as former student Lily Wishchusen, who joins us in classroom support. Meanwhile, Steve Kimber (Deputy Principal – Operations) and Linda Tsai (Head of Science) are enjoying some well-earned Long Service Leave.

The term has started with great energy from Year 12 Trial Exams to the House Farewells for our graduating class. A particular highlight was our LOTE (Languages Other Than English) Assembly, where students of French and Japanese showcased their language skills and cultural understanding. Hearing the Acknowledgement of Country spoken in multiple languages, along with a German prayer from our “Gappy” Tom Rataj, was truly special. The assembly featured songs, tongue twisters, and games that had everyone smiling. A huge thank you to Dylan Williams, our LOTE Captain and engaging MC, and to our talented LOTE team, Yuki Matsueda, Salaam Al Marashli, Chloe Didelot and Georgia Kelly for their creativity and enthusiasm.

Last night’s New Family Information Night was another wonderful occasion. Our College Captains, Lucinda Sweeny and Fraser Russell, were excellent MCs, while Alex Catchlove and Jordan McVeigh shared heartfelt reflections on their first year of secondary school. Ryan Young impressed with his saxophone performance, and our student uniform models did a fantastic job representing the College. Thank you to the many staff members who contributed their time and energy to make the evening a success.

There’s plenty to look forward to this term, so please keep an eye on Schoolbox for the latest updates and event details. It’s the best way to stay informed about what’s happening across our busy calendar.

Finally, with the warmer weather and high UV levels, please remind your children to stay SunSmart by wearing hats and sunscreen. Our staff continue to reinforce this message, and your support helps build healthy habits for life.

Warm regards,

Leslie Tilbrook
