Over the past few weeks, our students have continued to demonstrate faith in action through service, prayer, and community spirit.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our recent fundraiser for Remexio, our sister school in Timor-Leste. The funds raised will help support vital resources for their students and teachers. A special acknowledgment goes to Maya, Amelia, Olivia and Adelaide in Year 4, who took it upon themselves to run a lucky dip in their classroom to raise extra money. Their creativity and initiative were truly inspiring – well done, girls!

Our Year 6 students are preparing for their upcoming St Vincent de Paul School Sleepout, where they will spend a night at school to raise awareness and funds for those experiencing homelessness. This is a powerful opportunity for students to develop empathy and reflect on what it means to live out the Gospel call to serve others.
On Tuesday, November 5th, as part of their fundraising efforts, our Year 6s will also be running a range of fun stalls and activities at school, with all proceeds going to St Vincent de Paul Sandringham. Students are encouraged to bring along small cash and coins to take part in the day and support this wonderful cause.

We are so proud of our senior students for their compassion, leadership, and willingness to make a difference in the lives of others.
Over the last two weeks, we were delighted to welcome Fr Martin into all classrooms. He visited each year level to bless and distribute rosary beads to every student. The children were excited to receive their own beads and learn more about this special form of prayer, especially during the month of October – a month dedicated to the Rosary.
Next week, we will celebrate All Saints Day as a school community. Mass will be held on Thursday October 30th @ 2:30. This special feast reminds us of all the saints who have gone before us - both well-known and ordinary people who lived lives of faith, kindness, and hope. We give thanks for their example and pray that we may follow in their footsteps in our own daily lives.
Gospel Reading
Jesus tells the parable of the proud Pharisee who prayed from his self-importance and the tax collector who prayed humbly.
Family Connection
In the family, one sometimes observes a level of competition between children for parent attention, for acknowledgement of their abilities. Somehow, children seem to internalize that the attention given to one member of the family diminishes the attention given to another. In this way, children can often sound like the Pharisee in Jesus' parable. Parents who provide continual reminders to their children that they are loved for who they are, not for what they do, help children develop a healthy spirituality.
As a family, talk about what it means to compare oneself to another. Discuss whether it is helpful to compare oneself to another. In what ways might this be positive? (when it motivates one to use one's talents) In what circumstances might this be unhelpful? (when it proves discouraging, when it prevents one from valuing the abilities of another)
As a family, read today's Gospel, Luke 18:9-14. Discuss: What was wrong about the prayer of the Pharisee? How can we emulate the prayer of the tax collector?
Pray together as a family in thanksgiving for the blessing that is each member of your family. Pray that your family will be free from unhealthy competition. Pray in thanksgiving that God's love for us is unconditional.
Le míle beannacht,
(with a thousand blessings)
