From Associate Principal

With the end of year fast approaching, now is the time for Year 11 students to knuckle down and focus on their studies. Students are also strongly encouraged to utilise farm and trades sessions to make a start on their projects, and complete as many units of competency as possible, so they return having set themselves up to be in a great position to achieve their best in Year 12.
It has been wonderful to see the initiatives being put forward by Year 11 students already, to further extend their learning opportunities, sporting engagements and hands on skills. Well done!
Certificate III
Congratulations to all students who were successful in gaining a place in a Certificate III program. This year the places were highly contested, and the selection panel carefully considered every application to ensure that as many students were able to take up these opportunities as possible.
Unfortunately, we were not able to offer a place to every applicant, but those students are still encouraged to push themselves to excel in their Certificate II studies.
With some adjustments to the timetable, Certificate III induction processes and the first Core Unit are being delivered each Thursday during class time under the guidance of Mr Longmire. If students are absent for a Certificate III session, they must follow up with Mr Longmire to avoid missing out on critical content. This change allows students to get started this year and means that the end date for all students will be Friday 21 November (week 6).
Scholarship Recipients
It has been great to see a huge number of applications come through for the scholarships that have been offered to ongoing Year 11 students. The recipients of these scholarships will be announced at a special presentation afternoon, to be held on Friday 21 November.
Gliding Club Scholarship
This scholarship has been offered to a WACOA Cunderdin student by the Lions Club. The scholarship is aimed at students who have a keen interest in aviation and would like to be a part of the Gliding Club of WA and may have the intent to pursue a career as a pilot. If this sounds you, then please email Miss Sjollema for an application pack.
