Kambala Extra Curricular Dance Concert - Saturday 22 November 2025 - Alexander Hall

Year 1 Excursion Sydney Tramway Museum - Wednesday 15 October 2025

We're excited to announce that our Year 1 students will be taking a step back in time on Wednesday 15 October 2025 with a visit to the Sydney Tramway Museum.  

 

Parents and Carers will receive a permission form to complete and further information in the coming days.

 

On this excursion, students should wear their Sports uniform including their house polo shirt, sports shorts, zip sports jacket (NO FLEECES are to be worn and track pants only over shorts if the weather is cold) sports cap, yellow ribbons and sneakers. Please be sure to apply sunscreen prior to leaving the house in the morning.

 

Students will leave school at 8.30am and return to school at 3.00pm and are required to bring all food and water for the day in their black Kambala excursion bag. Please ensure your daughter arrives to school on time by 8.25am on this day!

 

No canteen lunch orders will be available on the day. The students will return on time to school for  usual carline collection or Extra Curricular activities.

Year 3 Drama Puppetry Incursion - Wednesday 15 October 2025

In this hands-on workshop led by expert puppeteers from Monkey Baa Theatre Company, Year 3 students will design and craft their own unique puppets from paper and learn key puppetry techniques to bring them to life with expression and movement.

 

Year 3 Students are to wear their Sports Uniform on this day. 

Year 5 Excursion - Bangarra Dance Theatre - Friday 17 October 2025 - Dawes Point, Sydney

A Drama excursion to Bangarra Dance Theatre has been organised for Year 5 students on Friday 17 October 2025 (Term 4, Week 1). Students will travel by private coach to and from Bangarra Dance Theatre located at Wharf 4/5, 15 Hickson Rd, Dawes Point. 

 

A permission form has already been sent to parents for completion. 

Please note that this production contains elevated sound levels, haze, smoke effects and voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have passed.

 

Students will be watching The Bogong’s Song: a call to Country which is a blend of storytelling, shadow puppetry, dance, and song created especially for primary-aged children. This performance will tie in beautifully with the 'Make your own Monologue' Term 4 unit of work which will commence after this show. 

 

On this excursion, students should:

  1. Wear their full summer uniform (including blazer, panama hats, yellow ribbons and polished black school shoes)
  2. Bring their black Kambala excursion bags
  3. Pack all food and water for the day - recess, lunch and a drink bottle - THERE WILL BE NO CANTEEN ORDERS AVAILABLE FOR YEAR 5 ON THIS DAY!
  4. All necessary medications (see below)
  5. Please apply sunscreen before coming to school in the morning

 

Students will leave school at 11:00am and return to school by 2:30pm in time for assembly followed by the usual carline collection or Extra Curricular activities.

Author Visit - Sue Whiting - Writing Workshops Years 2, 4 and 6 - Monday 20 and Wednesday 22 October, 2025

We are delighted to share that on Monday 20 and Wednesday 22 October, our Year 2, Year 4 and Year 6 students will have the exciting opportunity to work with acclaimed children’s author Sue Whiting

 

Through engaging workshops, Sue will inspire our students by sharing her expertise as a storyteller, her journey as a writer, and her passion for creativity. Sue is the author of many much-loved books including The Book of ChanceA Boat of Stars, and Missing. Her stories are known for their warmth, imagination, and ability to spark curiosity in young readers. This is a wonderful chance for our students to deepen their love of reading and writing while learning from a highly regarded author in Australian children’s literature.

Kindergarten Ranger Jamie Excursion Nielsen Park - Tuesday 21 October 2025

On Tuesday 21 October, Kindergarten students will be visiting Nielsen Park as part of their Geography Unit, People Live in Places. Students will engage in an outdoor learning experience which focuses on the relationship between people and their environments. They will explore natural settings at Nielsen Park and participate in hands-on activities, such as bush walking, bug catching, habitat building and waterway protection. 

Students will travel by bus from Kambala to Nielsen Park. 

 

On this excursion, students should wear their full sports uniform, including white polo shirt, shorts and yellow hat. Please apply SUNSCREEN prior to coming to school. 

 

Students will leave school at 9.30am and return by 2.30pm and are required to bring their own recess, lunch and water bottle with them in their black Kambala excursion bag. 

Please note- there will be no canteen orders on this day.

Massie Recital - Thursday 30 October 2025 - 7.30am

The second Massie Recital of 2025 will be held on Thursday 30 October at 7:30am, featuring performances from Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 students who are currently enrolled in private music lessons at school. 

 

The recital provides a valuable opportunity for our young musicians to showcase their progress and gain performance experience in a supportive environment.

Year 6 Camp Somerset - Monday 3 - Thursday 6 November 2025

We are delighted to announce the Year 6 Somerset Camp is taking place from Monday 3 - Thursday 6  November, 2025.

 

Somerset Outdoor Learning Centre, Colo has been offering Outdoor Programs to school students since the early 1980's. As an industry leader with over 35 years of expertise, Somerset offers a unique blend of learning experiences, outdoor facilities and activities delivered in a professionally managed Outdoor Education Program.

 

Information for parents, permission, dietary and medical forms as well as equipment lists will be sent to parents next week in time for the Spring break to ensure families have ample time to organise their campers!
