You’re invited!

How do you respond to invitations?

Do you like to turn up early? Then worry where everyone else is...

Do you accept straight away, turn up on time, eager make the most of the celebration.

Are you someone who needs to have everything super organized, rocking up laden with games and snacks, thinking of plan A, B and C, prepared for any contingency?

Are you focused on your image, your appearance and thinking about how you will be perceived?

Or are you someone who arrives a little late and doesn’t like the limelight, preferring to slip into the background unnoticed?

The Stage 4 teachers accepted the invitation to worship on Wednesday, showing up in an array of different ways mentioned above...

Last weekend we celebrated Easter. Jesus’ death and resurrection secured for us an amazing invitation... to God’s eternal kingdom and, most wonderfully, a relationship with him!

The first people who encountered the risen Jesus responded in a variety of ways.

Shock, fear, initial disbelief and joy. (See Matthew 28:1-10 and the other gospels) Some were hesitant, some responded at once.

They were given the invitation to ‘come and see’ and so are we!

People respond differently to invitations. The Stage 4 teachers responded differently to their invitations before ‘coming to the party’.  The circumstances of God’s invitation may arrive differently, we may see it differently, understand it differently, perhaps even accept the invitation at a different time, but we are all invited!

Jesus is alive! What are you going to do with your invitation?
