Welcome to BHS Julia!

Hello! 

My name is Julia, I am 24 years old and I come from a little state called “Saarland” in the south-west of Germany which is very close to the border with Luxemburg and France. I am the new German language assistant at Ballarat High School and I will support the German learners and the German department until the end of 2024. I studied English, Biology and Educational Sciences at the University of Trier in Germany and obtained a Master’s in Education earlier this year.

I have actually visited Australia before - I worked as an au pair in Sydney after I graduated from High School and it has always been my dream to come back one day because I love the landscape and the people here. 

I hope that I can enthuse the students about the German language and help them to improve their language skills in a fun and interesting way, while also gaining more teaching experience and improving my English before I start my professional life in Germany.
