Urban Surf Excursion - Y10 Outdoor Education

Late in Term 1 our Y10 Outdoor Education students attended an all-day excursion to Urban Surf located in Tullamarine, Melbourne. Urban Surf is an artificial surfing experience within an urban setting, allowing enthusiasts to catch waves without needing to travel to the coast. The Park features a state-of-the-art wave pool that generates various types of waves suitable for surfers of all levels, from beginners to experienced riders.

The students displayed a mixed range of abilities but under the expert guidance of our instructors, they eagerly immersed themselves in the art of surfing, displaying remarkable resilience and determination as they navigated the waves. By the end of our session, everyone was able to stand up and catch some thrill-seeking waves.

Beyond the thrill of surfing, this experience instilled valuable lessons in environmental stewardship and resilience. Students gained a deeper appreciation for our oceans and coastal ecosystems while honing their ability to overcome challenges in a new environment. The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all and hopefully encouraged a new found passion in Surfing.
