Anzac Day

As Principal, I felt enormous pride witnessing the significant contributions our students made to the three local ANZAC Day ceremonies yesterday.

Hamish Jones’ reading at the Dawn Service was incredibly moving and, with the theme this year focusing on peacekeeping, particularly poignant for the packed crowd who had braved the early morning drizzle.

Connor Madigan and Denise Hoogkamer took a pivotal role in the Arch of Victory Service which has extra significance for our community. Naomi and Leah Ross (pictured below in the Ballarat Courier) also participated.

Naomi was quoted "Especially as Ballarat High School kids, we're right next to the Arch, we even have the Arch Learning Centre named after the Arch. It's an honour for high school students to be learning with the Arch out the window every day at school. It was definitely special especially because it's my last year here in uniform".

At the 11:00 am Sturt Street service, Katie Skilton and Courteney Rouhan accompanied Mayor Des Hudson to lay the first wreath.

A massive thanks to all involved, ensuring that our students showed the wider community what our school is all about.
