MAKING MEANING THROUGH ART

The Banksia children have been enthusiastically engaging in arts and crafts activities within the kindergarten classroom! We've been using their common interest in art to prepare learning experiences that encourage the children to express their creative ideas. One afternoon last week, we decided to spontaneously line the entire table with newspaper. The children were offered trays of colourful paint, sponges and paint brushes. It was wonderful to observe the children proudly communicate their ideas, artwork and achievements with each other. This learning experience encouraged the children to work collaboratively together, extend on their social skills and build meaningful connections with their peers.  Well done Banskia class!
