Engaging in our Faith

Holy Week Reflections at Holy Family

The Catholic Church celebrates different seasons, just like there are seasons in the year. The seasons of Lent and Easter invite Christians to recognise and respond to Jesus.

During the season of Lent, we pray, we give to people in need and sometimes fast as a sign of our change of heart. In Holy Week, we remember the journey to Jesus’ death on the Cross.

You are invited to reflect on the events of Holy Week with your child’s class next Thursday, 28 March. If you can spare 50 minutes, please join us as we walk this faith journey. As we move through various locations in the school, we ask that you put away your mobile phones and leave your coffee cups behind as this experience is designed to be a time of prayer and reverence.

Thank you for your support in building the kingdom of God at Holy Family.

NB: Each grade will begin at a different time:

Kindergarten:        9:00am

Year One:                9:10am

Year Two:                9:20am

Year Three:             9:30am

Year Four:                9:40am

Year Five & Six:      9:50am

Kind regards

Liana Stella REC

Special thank you to Year 2 and Year 4 families for decorating a bag and donating some money in order for me to buy an Easter egg and bun for the Vinnies Brekky Van team to give out to homeless people on Easter Sunday morning.

If any school parent or friend would like to be part of the team one Sunday morning in Term 3 that cooks from 8 am- midday at Central station, please email me on anne.gray@dbb.catholic.edu.au. It is a great thing for your children to see you do and they can be involved in some way from home too. All volunteers need to be over 18 years. There are some online forms that need to be done in order to proceed and a WWCC and police check. This can take time for busy parents which is why I am asking now!

Many thanks,

Anne Gray
