Wilderness Education News

Last Wednesday Year 11 Outdoor Leadership ventured into the depths of Claustral Canyon. We arrived at school at 6am. Shortly after, we left on what was going to be the best canyon we have ever been in. There were many abseils, including the “Black Hole of Calcutta” which is 3 long abseils in a row through a waterfall and into a dark tunnel swim.

Claustral Canyon is considered as one of the most beautiful, but also quite a technical canyon. It is only due to our prior experience, commitment and enthusiasm for adventure that we were able to undertake such an adventure.

We thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip and would like to thank Mr Robbins and our guides for their expertise, fun and help throughout the day.
