From the Head of the Junior School

This week we have asked the Parents and Friends to contribute to the newsletter. I hope this highlights the incredible work that they do in our school. There has been particular strength in the Junior School P&F groups over many years. We are grateful for the many improvements that the P&F have made possible on our two campuses.

While the fundraising efforts of the P&F really do make a difference, so too does the community building efforts of these groups. Members of the P&F are regularly reaching out to other parents and hosting events for families to connect. This year I’ve been particularly touched by the efforts to welcome our new families. This has been led by the P&F and as a result, we have some new members!

Thank you again to the P&F, and for all the parents and grandparents who get involved at school. We know how busy you all are, but it’s so appreciated that you choose to build community in our school.

Kind regards,

The Runaway Dinner

Stage 1 Gugangina have written some hilarious stories about what would happen if their dinner ran way!

Have you ever imagined what would happen if the things around us suddenly came to life and took over?  Stage 1 children have brilliant imaginations and came up with some hilarious ideas!

We hope you enjoy their writings.

Basketball Report

Term 1, Week 8

BMGS Swish played the Hotshots and BMGS Swish won 56-21.

BMGS Avengers and the BMGS Stars had to combine this week to make one team due to the Stage 3 camp. They did a coaching session and then played against the A team and BMGS won 16 to 2.

Our Basketball Presentation Afternoon will be in Coote Hall, which is  in the Junior School, from 3pm to 4:30 pm on Friday 5th of April. All students and parents, who were part of our Summer Basketball Season, are warmly invited to attend. All players need to bring their own water bottles and pizza will be our afternoon tea.

If you are interested in supporting our Under 14s ‘Swish’ team as they enter the finals phase, please join us at Blaxland High on Friday the 5th April, as they play their semi-final game for a place in the grand-final. I have been assured that there will be plenty of time for them to get to their game after our Basketball Presentation Afternoon.
