From the Principal

To the Blue Mountains Grammar School Community,

I hope this message finds you well-placed as we approach the Easter season - a time that holds special significance for many of us.

As I write to you today, I reflect not only on the upcoming festivities but also on cherished memories from my childhood, particularly those involving my Mum. In our home, Easter was never merely about colourful eggs and bunnies, although there was never a shortage of chocolate and hot cross buns.

I am currently in Melbourne, working alongside the team from the Future Schools Alliance on our strategic plan for BMGS. It's a challenging yet rewarding task that fills me with hope for the future of our school community and, importantly, our young people. Amidst the hustle and bustle of this work, my heart is heavy as I spend time with my mother, who is in her final days.

One memory that keeps returning to me is our family's Easter tradition. Every year, my Mum would say, "He is risen," and we'd all respond with, "He is risen indeed." It might sound simple, but those words have so much meaning. They speak of faith, hope, and the promise of new beginnings from God - a message that has resonated with people for centuries.

The phrase "He is risen" is deeply rooted in Christian belief. It refers to Jesus Christ's resurrection and the triumph of life over death.

As we prepare to celebrate Easter, I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on what this season means to you personally. Whether you're spending time with loved ones, participating in religious rituals, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature, may you find comfort and renewal in the timeless message of Easter.

This Easter weekend, you and your children can explore the profound teachings of Jesus in a welcoming church environment. I encourage you to consider taking your children to church this Easter to find a space for reflection and spiritual growth.

Thank you for being a part of this community. May you have a blessed Easter filled with love, joy, and moments of peace.

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you." So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.

Matthew 28:5-8

He is Risen!

He is Risen, Indeed!

Warm regards,
