St Mary’s College had another fantastic athletics season finishing with a number of amazing individual, age group and team performances across both the Southern and State SATIS Carnivals, which were held at the Domain Athletics Centre.

Last Friday (22 March) all of the SATIS schools across Tasmania headed down to the Domain for an action-packed day of running, jumping, throwing and, of course, cheering on our fellow teammates.

On what was another very big day, our athletes represented St Mary’s with pride, great sportsmanship and left everything they had on the track. We couldn’t be prouder of your efforts! Well done, team!

Before we cover the individual athlete results, I would like to mention arguably the highlight of the Carnival, which was Ava Lindquist (Year 7) who not only ran her U13 800m a FULL SECOND FASTER than the first U13 boy but also broke the state record with an incredible time of 2:17.51. Just for reference, the old record was a time of 2:24.71. Well done, Ava!
