Moderation Meetings

Tomorrow (Thursday 28 March) is scheduled for teachers of Year 11 and 12 Tasmanian Assessment Standards and Certification (TASC) courses to participate in Moderation. The College has several staff members preparing to engage in discussions surrounding moderation of assessment to ensure comparability of standards between classes and schools, and to ensure fairness in assessment for all students statewide. Teachers participate in these thorough and rich conversations to build a shared common understanding of the criteria and standards in the courses they teach.

As a result, there are no scheduled classes for Years 7-12 in the Senior School on Thursday 28 March.

Learning Conferences

Families are invited to attend Learning Conferences on Monday 29 April in the Senior School. This is the first day of Term 2 for teaching staff. Students resume on Tuesday 30 April. Communication will be sent to families on Thursday 11 April regarding the booking process and invitations from your child's teachers.

Connect: Learning Management System

Students and teachers are progressively utilising Connect, the College's learning management system, in their delivery of learning and assessments. As communicated earlier in the term, Catholic Education Tasmania (CET) is preparing for direct parent access in Term 2. In the meantime, the College strongly encourages families to engage in learning conversations with their children by using the student logins. There will be feedback on formative and summative assessments, as well as learning activities, to guide your conversations across a range of learning areas in the Senior School. Below are some images of what you may see in discussion with your child.
