Learning Through Play at Preschool

Easter Celebrations 

Easter festivities have been a focus of our preschool program as the children have been engaged in an array of activities, from sensory rice exploration, to craft, to exploring Easter traditions around the world such as dying hard boiled eggs and participating in STEM challenges for group time requested by the Easter Bunny himself. 

Both Pink and Purple group children participated in an Easter Parade and went hunting for chocolate eggs in the outdoor environment.  We hope our families had a happy Easter for 2024. 

Nature Play Week 

Nature Play is a term used to describe the creation of simple play opportunities in the natural environment. Nature play encourages children to see the natural environment as a place to enjoy, play, imagine, relax and explore.

Nature Play Week will be celebrated in the preschool from the 8th to the 12th of April 2024.

We are very fortunate to have a dedicated natural space for the children to access and freely explore each day at preschool. The educators want to gauge the children's voices and seek their contribution in the planning and preparing of activities to celebrate Nature Play Week.

We researched what Nature Play may look like and different activities that could be explored. We documented the children’s ideas and suggestions during our Yarning time, and these will be used to program and plan for week 11. We look forward to sharing our activities in the upcoming newsletter.
