Senior School Expectations
Term 3
It is an expectation that students develop good study habits that include diligence, consistency, and development of time management. In classes, teachers are discussing strategies to enhance student study habits and support them in achieving their academic goals.
Please reinforce the importance of their study routine at home and the completion of the tasks set by their individual teachers. A study routine guideline has been developed and outlined with students in assemblies.
A number of students are attempting to balance part-time work with their studies. While gaining work experience can be valuable, it's essential to ensure that it does not interfere with their academic performance or overall well-being. If a student is working more than 20+ hours across the week, this is impacting on their ability to study and maximise their results. I encourage you to have an open dialogue with your child about managing their time effectively and finding a healthy balance between work and school commitments.
It's fantastic to see several students who are involved in various extracurricular activities. These pursuits can provide valuable opportunities for personal growth, social interaction, and relaxation. As we support their academic endeavour’s, it's important to also encourage them to continue pursuing activities that bring them joy and fulfillment, but these need to be on a balance approach.
Maintaining open communication between home and school is crucial for our students’ success. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions regarding their academic progress, part-time work, or extracurricular activities, please don't hesitate to reach out to the Senior Sub School team.
