Skippers Ticket
Saturday Mr Jones transported 20 students up to Mandurah for the Skippers Ticket practical assessment. Mr Jones continued his fantastic record of another group of students successfully completing their Skipper Ticket.
We need to give Ms Stringer some accolades as she does all the background preparation and teaching the skills required to sit the written paperwork. In fact, Ms Stringer does a mountain of work behind the scenes that no-one sees, so a huge thanks for the job you do.
Weekend Acitivties
The students who didn't go to Mandurah were up early and went up to Harvey Dam for a morning of kayaking, followed by BBQ lunch.
On Sunday some students decided to take a trip to Bunbury to watch the Kung Fu Panda movie.
Damage in Residence
We have had a spate of damage in and around the dorms recently, with a couple of doors being damaged from misuse. An example of this is when they have been opened well past their pivot point resulting in severely damaged hinges and closers being broken. This is beyond normal wear and tear and some families will be receiving an account regarding the cost of repairs.
We have also had a couch broken beyond repair, some foam lounge chairs being deliberately torn and the foam stuffing being removed. This is not only very disappointing but also rather expensive in repairs.
Grace removed almost half a garbage bag of rubbish, mainly empty food and drink containers, from the games room where food isn't permitted to be taken. This is very disappointing.
Student Dinner
Last night the Student Dinner was once again a great night for those who attended, unfortunately it seems that some students don’t appreciate the effort put in to create this event and for around the 20 staff who volunteer their own personal time.
This week has been a short week, I know the Easter Bunny managed to visit on Tuesday evening during prep, so I believe this was well received by all.
We wish all our families and staff and their families a very restful break. Stay safe and we will see everyone back for Term 2 from 3.00pm on Sunday 14th April 2024.
Have a wonderful break from all the Residential staff.
