PRINCIPAL UPDATE 

Welcome back to current families and to new families that have joined us this term.

In addition to this we would like to welcome Abbey Chapman who has joined us as an Educational Support Staff member.

Thank you to Peter and Amy for organising such a successful Athletics Day for Grade 3 to 6 students last Monday.  It was great to see students so actively engaged in their events.  Thank you also to staff and parent volunteers for your support. We look forward to following the students that made it through to District Athletics when they compete later this term.

Congratulations to all students who attended the District Cross Country last Wednesday. A huge effort by all, and again we look forward to seeing students who made it through to the next round compete in the Division event later this term also.

Staff will be undertaking professional learning this Friday around unpacking the personal and social capabilities outlined in the Victorian Curriculum.  This will support staff to make accurate judgements for reporting cycles in pertaining to individual students. A reminder that no classes will operate on this day.  Team Kids are offering a full day's care for families who would like to utilise this service.

Again, thank you to all families who supported Chilwell Fair this year, and to the amazing coordinators and stall managers assisting in the lead up to and on the night of the event.  Can I say that it was so appreciated that we had additional help in the pack up on the Saturday as many hands certainly made it easier for us and we were able to head off from school in the early afternoon and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

We have ordered the glass sliding doors for the Grade 3 and 4 classrooms and they will be installed the first week of May.  A great effort by all.

Can we please remind all families to label clothing, Tupperware, lunchboxes etc. Far too many are not being claimed, and the expense that this must be costing families is extraordinary.

If families are wanting to purchase Chilwell beanies for the winter, please do so at the Office.
