Belmore School Review

Over the past few weeks Belmore School has had it's school review, and the reviewers were blown away by our amazing students, staff and school. We will provide more detailed feedback once the report becomes available.

Thank you to the Parents who participated in the Parent Forum, your participation and feedback is invaluable.

Garden Show Entry

Our students have been working hard to put together our Scarecrow entry in the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. Our entry features Magnificent Molly in a wheelchair, and Sensational Sam in a standing frame. They have made it to the staging area and will be showcased in the 'Grow Together Garden' at the show.

If you are visiting the Show, don’t forget to stop by to admire our students’ amazing work and scan the QR code to put in a vote for the People’s Choice award – the prize is $1,000 of nursery vouchers and garden products which would be a fantastic addition for our new playground!

The People’s Choice will be open to all show visitors to vote online throughout the show, with voting closing on Sunday 24 March at 11am with the winner announced at 12pm.

The Show runs from the 20th of March and goes until 24th of March at the Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens.

Capital Works

Work continues on our outdoor areas with the retaining wall built and fill bought in to level the ground. We should see this area changing significantl over the next few weeks. Watch this space.

Student Support Group Meetings

Term 1 Student Support Group meetings were held between Monday 4 March and Friday 15 March.  These Term 1 SSG meetings are an opportunity for teachers to share the goals they have drafted in your child's individual education plan (IEP) and to seek your input into the finalisation of their plan.

Thank you to everyone who was able to participate. If you weren't able to make a suitable time and are still wanting to meet with your child's teacher, please let them know.

Post School Transition and ASDAN information evening

Our Transition evening for our secondary school students was also held this week. Several post school service providers come along to share their information about what they can offer our students once they leave Belmore School. Thanks to all the parents who attended the evening.

Harmony Day

Harmony Week is the celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone which ties in nicely to our SWPBs values of 'be kind', 'be safe', 'be respectful' and 'be our best'. This year we students will contribute to activities and a school display that celebrates our diversity. On Wednesday the 20th students may like to celebrate by joining the staff in wearing orange to school that day.
