Cricket Wrap Round 2

Congratulations to our School Cricket Team and Mr Thackray on a terrific game of Cricket against Bathurst South Public School in Round 2 of the PSSA Cricket Knockout. It was a shortened game due to rain with Bathurst South batting first. Bathurst South were 3 for 103 at the end of their 20 overs. We bowled well and fielded excellently to restrict them to 103. We batted and were 6 for 111 off our 20 overs. We needed to score quickly in case the rain came back and this set us up nicely to win the game in the last over. Everyone batted well but an 80 run partnership to Issac and Theo was incredible for our team. Well done to everyone. Congratulations on the win. Our round 3 match will be against Millthorpe Public School early in Term 2.

Commemoration of ANZAC Day 2024

The Bathurst RSL Sub Branch are continuing the participation of students in the 10:15am march as part of the Community ANZAC Day Service.

To signify the passing of the Anzac Spirit to the current generation, the Bathurst RSL Sub Branch will again honour our children by allowing them to lead the march. As in previous years, it is proposed that the students march as a single group behind a banner claiming, "The Anzac Spirit, Our Children - Our Future." The students will be accompanied by the Bathurst RSL City Youth Band and members of the Bathurst SES.

School holidays aside, the Sub Branch would appreciate our student's participation in this activity. If your child would like to march, they are required to be at the RSL Club, Rankin Street Bathurst by 9:50am for a 10:10am step off in full school winter uniform. Our School banner will be carried by our School Leaders. Staff from Bathurst Public School will meet and march with the children.

The 10:30 am service will be conducted from the Carillion facing George Street, with a reserved space on the grass for the children. Parents are asked to collect their child from the school staff at the end of the service.

Attendance Report for Week 10

Congratulations to 2/3F on the highest percentage of attendance last week. Our classes with no unexplained absences were 2/3F, 3-6R, and 3-6B.

Thank you to parents who have informed the school of absences through the portal.  It is a fast and easy way of letting us know if your child is going to be absent.

Although our attendance rate fell slightly last week, it remains above the state and network.

As we head into the holidays, it remains important that your child attends school every single day. School is the best place for students to learn, make social connections, and build life-long skills. We understand that families are eager to see and reconnect with loved ones and take a well-deserved break, but please remember that planned travel should only be taken during scheduled school holidays.  Students should be at school every day during school terms, including until the end of term, unless they are sick or are absent for a justified reason.

Missing a day here or there may not seem like much, but absences add up and can negatively impact your child's learning and well-being. When your child misses one day per fortnight, that's four weeks of missed learning in one year. Over an entire school journey, this adds up to one year of lost learning.

We want to do everything we can to help all students be at school every single day, because every day counts. If you have any concerns or questions please talk to me, the front office staff or your class teacher.

We wish everyone a safe and happy vacation period and look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, 30th April at 9am.

If any parent has concerns regarding any aspect of school life, please do not hesitate to contact me.
