WEEK 8: KEY INFORMATION

Highlights:

Congratulations to our CISSA teams in week 7. SMCC played Trinity Bay this week, and all teams competed well. 

 

SMCC had good wins in:

- Touch Football Girls

Congratulations to the Female Rugby League team on their convincing win against Mareeba yesterday, 7 tries to 1. The girls looked dominant in their very first appearance on the Rugby League stage. Best of luck for next week when you take on Trinity Bay.  

St Marys U13 boys’ rugby league team played their second game this week against Saint Augustine's. The team were down at half time and made a great come back in the second half to narrowly be defeated. Please come along next week Wednesday 3.45pm on the SMCC oval to watch the boys take on St Andrews Catholic College.

- Basketball Training: Monday, 7.30am - 8.10am in the Nazareth Pavilion

- Run Squad Training: Tuesday, 7.00am, students to meet at the bike racks

- Rugby League Training Girls: Wednesday, 7.00am on the SMCC Oval

- Rugby League Training Boys: Monday, 3.15 - 4.30pm on the SMCC Oval

- Rugby League V St Andrews: Wednesday, 6 March 3.45pm

- Rugby League Match-Females: Wednesday, 13 March 3.50pm at Jones Park

- Netball Senior Female Training: Friday 3.30pm - 4.15pm

- Netball Junior Girls Trials (Year 7-9) Male and Female: Wednesday, 20 March (Week 9) 3.30pm-4.45pm


SPORT KEY INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS AND  PARENTS/CARERS

All students have access to the new Sports Canvas Page. This is where all students will be directed to obtain all sport information. Please ensure that you have accepted the invitation and please head to the sports page and check it out. 

Junior and Senior Sport Program-Key Information: 

All sport information is uploaded to the Sports Canvas page. 

JUNIOR SPORT: YEAR 7

Day & Time: Tuesdays Period 5 and 6

Uniform: House Shirt 

 

The Term 1 Sports Program is an Interhouse Sport Competition, held here at St Mary's. Please remind your child to ensure they bring a hat and water bottle. 

Students that are in the musical, are required to go to their allocated room in P6 and P7. 

JUNIOR SPORT: YEAR 8 & 9 

Day and Time: Tuesdays Period 5 and 6

Uniform Year 8: Sport Shirt

Uniform Year 9: Sport Shirt

 

All students need to go to the Sports Canvas page- Junior Sport-Junior Sport Term 1. You will find the weekly Junior Sport timetable which will help you to know what you need to bring and where you are to meet. 

Some activities are off-site and students will travel by bus. 

 

All students to ensure that they bring a hat, water bottle and sunscreen. 

SENIOR SPORT: YEAR 10, 11 & 12

Day & Time: Wednesday Period 5 and 6

Students are either in CISSA teams or the Sport Rotation Groups.

Uniform: Sport Shirt

 

All students need to go to the Sports Canvas page- Senior Sport - Senior Sport Term 1. You will find the weekly Senior Sport timetable which will help you to know what you need to bring and where you are to meet.

 

CISSA teams will need to meet in the HOB at 1.30pm this week as they have the bye and will be training.

 

All students to ensure that they bring a hat, water bottle and sunscreen. 


TCS & PENINSULA TRIAL INFORMATION

TCS and Peninsula Trial Information:

Anyone who wants to trial for TCS must fill in the Peninsula Paperwork before they can trial. This can be downloaded from the Sports Canvas page, or a printed copy can be collected from the leaflet box outside the Sports Office (near the Sports Mailbox).

 

Parents will need to fill in the Peninsula Paperwork and students are to return it to the Sports Mailbox.

 

The Sports Department will seek the relevant approvals.

 

Students can collect the Peninsula Paperwork 2 days after submission from the Sports Office at lunch. 

 

Students will need to take this paperwork with them to the TCS trials (unless it is paper nominations). If it is paper nominations parents will need to submit via the link/QR code provided.
