ARTIST ON THE RISE
In Year 10 Media, the students are working through a production plan which includes researching, planning and producing a music video clip. The students created their own individual plans and presented a “Pitch” to the class to convince others to work on their project.
Justine Pinn (Year 10) was selected by the large majority of the class to direct her music video clip to ‘No Body, No Crime’ by Taylor Swift.
Justine has planned, scripted and storyboarded her creative vision for the song and has been working as the director alongside her group.
Through this process Justine has embodied many of the college’s values, particularly community, creativity and success. Justine has been leading her group through clear direction to help realise her original creative vision. The group has been working collaboratively together throughout the process and are in the final stages of filming.
The media production process is revisited in VCE media to help students research, plan and produce their own media products. Justine’s work as director in this project provides an opportunity to experiment with this process and allow for her to develop key skills in media production that she may wish to take on board in Year 11 and 12.
