NATIONAL RECONCILIATION WEEK

27 May until 3 June was National Reconciliation Week. This year’s theme is “Now More Than Ever”.  According to Reconciliation Australia the week is a “…reminder to all of us that no matter what, the fight for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will – and must – continue”.

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) started as the Week of Prayer for Reconciliation in 1993 during the International Year of the World’s Indigenous Peoples.

To mark the occasion, library staff prepared a library display of books featuring First Nation authors and themes.
