YEAR 12 PSYCHOLOGY - SLEEP INCURSION

Last Friday (31 May), the VCE 3/4 Psychology students were lucky enough to have the continuous annual Sleep Incursion presented by Alvita Sam, a psychology researcher of sleep and mental health from Turner Institute. She explored our new unit of sleep giving us more insight and an explanation of our different stages of sleep and its impacts.

As well as giving us a visual representation of our Year 12 volunteer Sofija Lukac’s brain waves whilst attempting to sleep by using an Electrooculogram also known as an EOG, where we got to see the process and preparations that go into it.

Participating in this lecture has granted us with a stronger understanding of the content we are currently learning and the experience was overall interesting and inspiring. I’d like to thank the 3/4 Psychology teachers for organising this incursion and of course, Alvita for making the time to come and speak with us, it was very much appreciated.
