YEAR 9 ALGEBRA

The Year 9s have been learning about algebra recently so our class has been undertaking numerous brain breaks and activities to mix things up.

One week we completed an Algebra like terms race where teams needed to add and subtract like terms to make different expressions and another week, we completed a Kahoot on solving algebraic equations. 

This has been a good way to break up a double and keep the class more engaged.

During this topic of Algebra all the Year 9 students have been engaging in exciting activities related to our current mathematics topic. 

We started off with a challenging game of solving algebraic expressions in groups of 5 or 6, really testing our collaborative and communication skills. It was great to see so many students applying their knowledge related to the topic and being able to find alternative solutions when complications occur!

This goes to show that these stupendous math games that we are provided with not only help students in the academic scene, but with life skills.
