Year -1/2 Unit
We are nearly at the end of Term 2, and what a term it’s been. Over the last 2 weeks we have been wrapping up our Design Unit which involved the students creating their park design. The students had such a great time making these and as you can see, are very proud of their efforts! Here are the designs from 1/2R:
In Writing, the students have been creating a persuasive piece to convince leadership to build their equipment. There were some powerful arguments, so they may need to consider building them in the future! The students have also published and are presenting them to the class, to practise their public speaking skills.
For Reading, the students have been looking at the main ideas in a text and also summarising the main ideas in order. They have also been practising their fluency and asking questions as they read.
In Mathematics we have been exploring shapes and their features. The students loved looking through the school to see what kinds of shapes they could find.
Thank you to all of the parents who came in to have a chat with their child’s teacher over the last week. It was wonderful sharing lots of positives over the semester. If you didn’t manage to get a time slot and you would still like to meet, please make sure you contact your child’s teacher to organise a time.
We all hope you have a lovely end of term break!
