Maths At St John's

GETTING READY IN NUMERACY - GRIN

What a great term of learning our GRIN students have had with our GRIN Tutors!

Here is some feedback from the participants:

‘We can learn Maths in a fun way. I find Maths a bit easier now’.

‘I enjoyed learning more about Maths and being prepared for the Maths lesson. I feel that I have improved a lot on my number lines and knowing my place Value using 10's and 1's MAB blocks. I have more confidence in class’.

‘I enjoyed learning about number lines and learning how to work out sums. I enjoyed learning about what we were doing in Maths. I have improved in Maths because I am more confident and I feel I know more’.

‘I know that me and my group members are improving because we’re all putting up our hands to participate in Maths lessons’.

We look forward to continuing this fantastic program in Semester 2!!

The GRIN Tutors and classroom teachers have noticed a remarkable improvement in confidence during the maths lessons. The students are coming into the Maths lesson armed with the key vocabulary and concepts that are being taught and are more confident in engaging with the learning. The students have also shown an improvement in their assessment results!

We look forward to continuing this fantastic program in Semester 2!!
