From our Parents Commitee

Last week we celebrated Fete de la Musique for the first time at CJC and what an event it was!

We were blessed with clear sky, delicious homemade crepes and stellar performances well into the night by our talented students, The Apparents and our special guest star, Mr Chant! This festival showed us the wonderful memories that we can make as a community when we come together and share our talents.  A huge thank you to the coordinators who ran and managed this event – Martine Inge, Caroline le Goff & Marine Ors!!

We have a long list of thank-yous as these events can only happen with our wonderful team of volunteers

A big thank you to….

All of our talented performers from Prep through to Grade 6

Our MCs, Anne-Sophie Aguado and Charlotte Chang;

  • All of the crepe makers who spent 5hs preparing the crepes, Martine Inge, Marine Ors, Caroline le Goff and Cecile Come;
  • Olivia Bihry for her generous donation of her own salted butter caramel for the crepes;
  • The members of The Apparants, Cedric, Laurent, Pat, Dara and Solange who helped us celebrate the winter solstice in style;
  • Tifi Dezil and Ayo Saga Group for showcasing their traditional Mauritian dance; and
  • Our stall volunteers on the day: Marcella Wilder, Camille Manoury, Alex Faive, Claire Douangmala, Rima Smith, Barbara Roth, Alyssia Hailing, Celine Come, Amy Pate, Marnie Baker, Stuart Baker, and many more…

We also raised approximately $2000 towards the upgrade of the senior playground.

We would also like to congratulate fellow parent, Pierrick Boyer, who provides the pains au chocolate every Friday, who was recently awarded an Order of Agricultural Merit / Chevalier du Merite Agricole for his ongoing contributions to French gastronomy. We are lucky to have you supply and support the school.

Term 3

Never wanting to rest on our achievements, we have lots of events planned for Term 3 starting with the Bastille Day / Paris Olympics event on 26 July (See the separate flyer) and then the Father’s day stall and breakfast, both on 30 August. A roster for volunteers will be sent out early in term 3. We especially need volunteers to assist with the stall from 11am to pack up at 2pm.   Please contact us if you would like to help coordinate either of these events.

General Matters

Friday Treats:   We will sell pain aux chocolate ($4) from Reverie Café after school from 3.30pm until 3.45pm. Profits from this week’s sale will be donated to the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency as part of CJC’s contribution to NAIDOC week: Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency | VACCA

CJC Families Facebook Group: Did you know that we have a CJC Facebook Group called CJC Families?  The page is used to inform our community of CJC Events, sell 2nd hand uniform, find a babysitter and more. The page is private, and you must be a CJC community member and answer the questions to join.

EFM - Call for Volunteers: The EFM provides a range of francophone services to our CJC community, including running the ever-popular EFM after school activities. The EFM is looking for additional volunteers to support the management of these programs and other programs. Joining the EFM is a great way to deepen your francophone connections at CJC and beyond. Please contact president@efm.org.au if you can assist.

Gardening Club:  We also have some interested parents who have established a CJC Parent Gardening Team to assist Madame Wilson’s STEM and Garden Program.  Contact us at caulfieldjuniorpc@gmail.com

For all parents and carers wishing to volunteer at the school it is essential that you obtain your Working With Children Check – you can apply on line here and it is free for volunteers: Working with Children Check (service.vic.gov.au)

Amy Pate – President, Julia Yuncken – Secretary, Anne-Sophie Aguado – Treasurer and Martine Inge – Head Convenor.
