Holy Family Digital Champions!

On Tuesday 2nd July Melissa & Jack were fortunate enough to be asked to speak to other educators in CSBB. They have been working with the new Vivi System - which is a communication and collaboration tool that engages students and elevates educators.

Melissa & Jack have loved using Vivi and have become 'digital champions', being asked to share their knowledge with others. The Seniors use Vivi in their classrooms in so many ways providing unique and interactive learning experiences for their students.

We congratulate Melissa & Jack on their achievement and look forward to learning so much more in the future.

ICAS Testing (Optional)

This year Holy Family students again offer the opportunity for students to participate in the University of NSW English, Mathematics and Science competitions. These competitions have been running for 20 years and are an independent assessment program for schools across Australia, New Zealand, India, South Africa, Hong Kong, China and the Pacific region. The competitions are known as International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS).

These tests do not assess the NSW/Australian curriculum, are not compulsory at Holy Family and do are not included in our assessment schedules, however, if you would like your child to participate in any, or all, of these tests, please follow the instructions below.

The competition is only available to children in Years 3-6. If your child cannot participate on the scheduled day, we cannot offer a refund or an alternative date.

Staff Development Days

To assist schools to implement new English and Maths curriculum, CSBB has allowed us more Staff Development Days than in previous years. These days are used to assist teachers in their knowledge of the new curriculum and the best ways to teach the outcomes and content. The dates of these additional days are set by CSBB and often involve 'System Days' where we meet with other schools for whole diocese professional learning.

For the remainder of 2024 the dates and focus are as follows.

Friday 5th July - System Day - CSBB Pedagogical Framework

Monday 22nd July -Curriculum - Fluency, Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension

Monday 19th August - Staff Spirituality Day at Cana Communities

Friday 27th September - Curriculum - Mathematics

Thursday 19th December - End of year handover procedures

Friday 20th December - End of year handover procedures

We appreciate that family organisation on these days can be challenging and we thank our parent community for their flexibility and understanding.

Congratulations Caitlin Scro!

Congratulations to talented Year Four student, Caitlin for her successful audition for Willoughby Theatre. Caitlin was selected to play the role of a young Don/Cosmo, a small cameo role in the theatre's October production of singing in the rain. Well done Caitlin!

Have a lovely weekend
