Special Visit from Opera Star Mark Vincent!

Dear Parents and Students,

We had a truly unforgettable experience on Monday as Mark Vincent, a distinguished opera singer and former student of Our Lady of Fatima, visited our school to speak with members of our choir.

Mark, who shot to fame by winning Australia's Got Talent in 2009 as a teenager, has since become a renowned figure in the world of opera. Despite his international success, he graciously returned to our school to share his passion for opera with our students. It was heartwarming to hear that Mark fondly remembered his time here and even recognized some of his former teachers!

During his visit, Mark expressed his admiration for our choir and was thoroughly impressed by their talents and dedication. The choir students asked some incredible questions during the Q&A session with Mark.

Some questions included:

  • If you could duet with anyone who would it be?

Celine Dion or Andrea Bocelli

  • What inspired you to become a singer?

Marks grandfather inspired him to be a singer and follow his dreams

  • When was your first performance?

Marks first performance was at the OLF church for the Grandparents Mass. Ms Schembri gave Mark the confidence to perform in front of the school community which he was very nervous about.

  • What advice would you give us as members of the choir and aspiring singers?

Always follow your passions and believe in who you are.

Excitingly, Mark is currently mentoring aspiring singers and has generously offered his guidance to our students. If your child is interested in receiving tutorials from Mark, please feel free to reach out to him directly at  This is a remarkable opportunity for our students to learn from someone as talented and inspirational as Mark Vincent.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mark for taking the time to visit and inspire us with his extraordinary journey in opera. It was indeed a privilege to have such a remarkable individual in our midst.
