From the Deputy Principal
I would like to take a moment to commend our whole student body for their focus and perseverance in their studies through this longer term. However, I have become aware of isolated instances of disrespectful language to teachers and peers from some students. Clearly, this is unacceptable and not how we do things at Mazenod. We apply our Behaviour Policy to these matters and I would the student’s attention to their own Code of Conduct, Our Mazza Way. I sometimes wonder whether this is a consequence of unmoderated online social media interactions with peers that could be encouraging it to enter into the adolescent vernacular. Regardless, our expectations remain. I would like to share a SchoolTV report on the adolescent issue of respectful relationships:
SPECIAL REPORT: Respectful Language | Mazenod College - Lesmurdie (schooltv.me)
The Careers Team have been tireless in their preparations for our Year 10 students during MyPath week and the preceding events. This is the lead-up to Year 10’s career counselling sessions and subject selections for Year 11.
It is always timely at the end of the term to remind students about returning to school with appropriate haircuts and grooming. It would be much appreciated if you could accommodate these preparations.
The Year 12s are eagerly anticipating their Year 12 Ball and I am sure it will be a roaring success. It is a marquee moment in our school and their personal calendar for sensible celebration and reflection. I extend thanks and gratitude to Mrs Bulich and the team for preparing the event. Many staff members will be in attendance to share in the celebration.
Have a safe and restful holiday.
Michael Anderson
