Junior School Notices

Uniform and Hair Standard:

One of the ways that we demonstrate respect at Calrossy is by wearing our uniform with pride. Students are required to wear their complete summer uniform, including the dress hat (Yrs 3-6) or play hat (P-2 and sport days), as part of our door-to-door policy, every day. Please ensure that your child's hair conforms to appropriate standards; mullets, sharks, and similar unconventional hairstyles are not permitted.  Click here for a complete uniform guide 

Phones/iWatches/Device: Please leave these at home. Children do not need these at school. If they must, they need to be dropped in the box at the JS Office each morning before school. This includes watches, with any kind of wifi connectivity or ability to interrupt the flow of learning. They are a distraction and not necessary. iWatches can be worn out of school time, not at school and are an expensive item, not needed to add to the items that can be lost or damaged at school. 

Swimming Carnival

Calrossy swimmers for all students in Yr 2-6 are compulsory. Students may choose to purchase the rash vest if desired. 

Parent Information Evenings

Please prioritise this as an excellent way to connect with the School and feel informed. Parents will hear from the Head of Junior School and spend time in their child’s classroom hearing specifically about the year ahead from the class teachers. In the combined session, parents will hear from the Head of Junior School about the New Syllabus and the importance of regular school attendance. The combined session will be the same on both nights, parents need only to attend one combined session. Supervision will be provided by teachers for families who wish to bring their children.

Kindergarten and Prep First Day

We were happy to see so many smiling faces last week as our Prep and Kindy students had their first day of the year. It is wonderful to see so many new and returning families to Calrossy. We thought we would share some of those smiles! You can access our photo galleries on The Hub or below.

Calrossy Open Day, Friday February 23

The Calrossy Open Day is a wonderful opportunity for families to discover the Calrossy difference and what learning and life looks like at our School.  

Everyone is welcome at Open Day from Prep to Year 12, including parents. It is a great day to familiarise yourself with the school and ask all the important questions regarding the education of your child.

The day will include a tour of the school, either the William Cowper or Brisbane Street Campus, depending on the age of your child and also a parent talk.
