Year 12 Camp

Review of the Year 12 Camp – Zoe S

The Year 12s had an amazing time on Study Camp last week. We stayed at University College, which is a residential college of the University of Melbourne, on Wednesday and Thursday night, living in luxury with our own private rooms and ensuites!

Throughout the three days, our teachers gave a range of presentations on study skills, personality types, goal setting and more, to help us get into the zone for year 12. We were also super lucky to be visited by some terrific guest speakers. A panel of four PVCC alumni shared their experiences and advice about VCE, university and beyond. Penni Russon, author of the English text All that we Know of Dreaming, also gave her top tips for creative writing. Best of all was the engaging presentation from Mike Rolls and Ben Pettingill who shared their challenging experiences and inspired us to be resilient and disciplined in year 12.

During the afternoons, we enjoyed a range of activities around the city, including a scavenger hunt, and a choice between bike riding, rock-climbing, and visits to the NGV and Museum. It was super fun and a great chance to practise navigating around the city with our friends. But the biggest highlight was the river cruise on the Yarra River.

We all got dressed up and enjoyed a delicious multi-course dinner, stunning views, and time to make memories together as the class of 2024. What a fantastic way to kick off the year!
