Dear Parents and Carers

 

Parent Teacher Conversations

Thank you to all the parents who made times  to meet with their child's teacher. These conversations are a great way of sharing important information that will assist your child's learning. I know the teachers appreciate meeting with you. If you were unable to make an appointment on Tuesday please contact your child's teacher to arrange another time.

 

Parents and Friends Association

The first Parents and Friends Association meeting will take place in the staffroom tonight at 7.00pm  If you are interested in getting to know how the P and F works and what they do, please come along. It would be great to see new faces.

 

A huge thank you to the P and F for organising the very tasty pancakes for everyone on Tuesday. There were alot of happy children and teachers!!!!!

 

Opening School Mass

It was wonderful to see so many parents and families  join us  at our Opening School Mass.

It was very fitting to  welcome  those new to the the St Bede's family.

We are proud of our Year 6 Leaders and Captains who were presented with their badges. 

They have commenced the year as great role models for other students within the Community. We congratulate all  these students  and wish our Captains every success in their roles.

 

Education Board

We are seeking nominations for the Education Board. The Board acts in an advisory role to  Fr John and myself.

 

Examples of the what the board maybe involved in are:

Helping develop a Master Plan for buildings

School Fees ( costings)

Supporting curriculum initiatives, as well as many others items.

 

If you are interested in becoming a Board Member please email myself  with an expression of interest.

The Board meets 5 times a year.

 

 

Enrolments Prep 2025

Enrolments for Prep 2025 are now open.

If you have a sibling commencing school in 2025 can you please contact the office for an application form, fill it in and return it ASAP.  Our first Open Day will take place on  Wednesday the 13th March.  If you know anyone who might be interested please let them  know the date. The dates are also our Website.

 

If parents can not make it on this date, other days can be arranged by simply contacting the office.

 

Sad News

I would like to inform our community that Mrs Diana Antonella's mother passed away earlier this week. I ask that you please keep Diana and her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

 

Camping Program

In week 5 of this term our Yr 5/6 students will be attending a 3 day camp at "Burnside Camp" in Anglesea.  They are getting very excited.

At St Bede's we have a tiered camping program starting in Year 2 with a sleepover. This is followed by a Yr 3/4 camp to Mt Evelyn or Phillip Island and a Canberra or Beach camp in Yr5/6.

Our camp programs allows for the following skills to be developed.

 

  • The building of relationships
  • Independence
  • The building of  Resilience and confidence
  • New opportunities and memories
  • Outdoor Education activities
  • Team building

All children are expected to be involved in our Camp program.
