School Leadership Report

Last week, all of the School Leaders received their badges. It was a very exciting moment, and we are incredibly proud that our school community voted for us to represent them.

Over the past two weeks, we have been out the front of the school working to make Spanish more visible to parents. We have helped families practise and learn these questions:

¿Cómo te llamas? What is your name?

¿Cuántos años tienes? How old are you?

¿De dónde eres?Where are you from?

¿Tienes hermanos o hermanas?Do you have brothers or sisters?

¿Cuál es tu comida favorita? What is your favourite food?

¿Tienes mascotas?Do you have pets?

We would like to thank all the parents who joined in. It has been wonderful to see students helping their parents perfect their accents and parents showing excitement and support for Spanish learning. We have noticed some parents walking past. We encourage you to stop and join us! We are always happy to help.

Last week, we also held our first Icy Pole Friday. While Luke was concerned about rubbish, students did an amazing job keeping Newlands clean and beautiful. We sold over 480 icy poles, and due to popular demand, we’ve added a new milky surprise flavour this week!

We would also like to say a big thank you to Fox and Alex for organising our first Funky Friday. Their work at assembly helped make the end of the week even more fun.

Have a fantastic week!

Your School Leaders,

Taylor, Max, Bonnie & Austin
