From the Prefects...

Dear Kinross Wolaroi Families,
With the new year now well and truly underway, Term 1 has already delivered many successes across the School community!
Our annual Swimming Carnival, held on 6 February, started the term with an outstanding display of house spirit and sportsmanship across all year groups. A standout event of the day was the highly anticipated Year 12 versus Teachers relay, where the Year 12 team claimed a well-earned victory. Congratulations to Brown house, whose enthusiasim, participation and teamwork resulted in them being crowned the overall house champions. Thank you to all the staff and students who helped out on the day, making it an exciting and successful event for everyone despite the heat.
Meanwhile there is great anticipation building around our 2026 musical production, 'Beauty and the Beast'. With auditions generating excitement across the school we look forward to seeing this production come to life through our many talented performing arts students.
Sport continues to thrive with students actively participating in the second term of their summer sports. The First XI Cricket team has recorded impressive victories over CYMS and Orange City teams, showcasing exceptional teamwork, resilience and determination. As finals draw closer, we encourage everyone to keep an eye on upcoming fixtures and come along to support your peers to finish the season strongly.
Our Year 7 students have also enjoyed their recent camp experience to the Great Aussie Bush Camp at Lake Macquarie. The camp provided opportunities for students to build new friendships, develop resilience and embrace new challenges as they settle into high school life, with the big swing being a clear highlight for many.
Our Year 12 boys have recently been training with great determination and commitment for the upcoming Mensline Cup. This annual charity netball tournament raises awareness and funds for men’s mental health, reflecting the boys dedication in supporting an important cause and leading by example within our school community.
Looking ahead, we are excited for the upcoming Country Fair on Saturday 7 March. This much anticipated event showcases each aspect of life at Kinross Wolaroi, promising fun, entertainment and an opportunity for the wider community to come together to celebrate all our school has to offer.
It has definitely been a busy and rewarding start to the year, and we look forward to the many achievements and opportunities still to come!
Kind regards,
Angus and Ivy
