Parking Reminder from Orange City Council

As we settle into the new school year, Council would like to share a quick reminder about how drop‑off and pick‑up zones around our schools work. These guidelines help keep everyone safe and make those busy morning and afternoon periods run a little more smoothly.

No parking zones

You can stop in a No Parking zone for up to two minutes to drop off or pick up passengers. You’re welcome to step out of the car to help your child, but the driver must stay within three metres of the vehicle.

Families with a valid mobility permit may stay in a no parking zone for up to five minutes, and the permit holder can be assisted to the nearest safe location.

Here’s an example of what a no parking sign looks like, so be sure to keep an eye out. 

We also ask that you avoid stopping in bus zones, no stopping zones, or double‑parking, as fines may apply.

Please be aware that Council does patrol these areas regularly and we just want to make sure no one gets caught out during the busy school run.
