Wonderful 1

One-derful Class Chronicles
Term 1 Week 6 2026 - Friday 6th March
What have we been up to?
Over the past two weeks, we have continued exploring Adventure Narratives in Reading and Writing, reading Sam’s Bush Journey and practising comprehension skills such as making connections and retelling events in order, while also learning about the structure and key features of adventure narratives.
In Maths, we have been focusing on Place Value, developing our understanding of tens and ones through hands-on activities and materials to build, represent and partition numbers up to 100.
In Inquiry, as part of our Year 1 Geography unit Local Places: Natural, Managed & Constructed, students have been exploring special places in our local area, learning about natural, managed and built features, how places change over time, and how people, including First Nations Australians, care for them, sharing their learning through questions, maps and drawings.
A friendly reminder to please send through a family photo for our Family Wall if you haven’t already. Thank you!
