Project Compassion

Each Lent the Catholic Church in Australia supports the work of Caritas through their annual appeal - Project Compassion. This year's theme for Project Compassion is 'uniting against poverty', calling us as a Catholic community to join together to improve the living standards of the most vulnerable people in our world.

Each student received a Project Compassion coin box as an invitation to find ways to give a little; maybe by taking on a household chore or giving up something for the season of Lent and putting that money towards Project Compassion.

How do donate:

Congratulations Althea, Cora and Amelia

On the weekend Althea, Cora and Amelia set up a cupcake stall, selling 40 cupcakes to their neighbours, raising $159 for Caritas, making the Project Compassion appeal visible to those outside our school community.

Well-done Althea, Cora and Amelia!

If you have a fundraising story you want to share, please email them to Mrs Marcia Arnold or your classroom teacher.

Solidarity Rice Lunch - March 2nd

On Monday the 2nd of March to kick of our Project Compassion Appeal we are having a solidarity lunch. The students are asked to bring a plain rice lunch to eat during first break, to raise awareness of the experiences of the poorest communities in our world.

Students will gather together on the oval for a short prayer before engaging in the solidarity meal.  We encourage involving your children in the cooking of the rice and discussion about the experiences of those who live without access to nutritious food and clean water.
