Cultural Special Events Recognition at BEPS
Lunar New Year
We would like to wish all of our BEPS families who celebrate Lunar New Year a very Happy New Year. May the year ahead bring good health, happiness and prosperity to you and your loved ones.
新年快乐 (Xīn Nián Kuài Lè) Chúc Mừng Năm Mới 새해 복 많이 받으세요 (Saehae bok mani badeuseyo)
Selamat Tahun Baru
Wishing everyone a joyful and prosperous year ahead! 🧧✨
Below is the presentation that Tina, Zoey and Charlotte did at assembly on Monday about Lunar New Year.
Charlotte - During Lunar New Year, we wear traditional clothing. In Vietnamese we call it ‘Ao dai’.
Zoey - The word in the red decoration is ‘Fu’ and if you turn it upside down, it brings more luck.
Tina - In my family, we eat dumplings and ‘jiu cai bing’ (garlic chive pancake) together.
Ramadan
We would like to acknowledge that Ramadan has begun for some of our BEPS families in the school community this week. Ramadan is a special and sacred month of reflection, prayer and fasting for Muslims around the world. We wish our families observing Ramadan a peaceful and blessed month — Ramadan Mubarak (Blessed Ramadan) or Ramadan Kareem (Generous Ramadan) to all who are fasting.
