Learning Across the
Junior School
Teddy Bears' Picnic
On Thursday, our Reception students and Year 12 Leaders came together on the Acacias lawns for a Teddy Bears’ Picnic. Students brought along their favourite teddies and enjoyed spending time together in a relaxed and friendly setting.
It was wonderful to see the connections between our youngest students and their senior leaders, highlighting the strong sense of community across our College.

Loreto Connections Across Australia
Next week I look forward to attending the Loreto Schools Australia Conference in Sydney, together with other leaders from Loreto schools across Australia. The conference will focus on contemporary and future approaches to learning and teaching, while remaining focused on the tradition and charism of Mary Ward. Opportunities such as this are always enriching, as they strengthen our shared commitment to excellence and ensure we continue to grow as a national Loreto community.
In Week 7, our Year 6 students will travel to Canberra along with students from Loreto Kirribilli and Loreto Toorak. Maintaining the tradition of aligning our camps offers a meaningful opportunity for the girls to deepen the Loreto sisterhood, forming friendships and connections that extend well beyond their own campus. This shared experience consistently creates lasting memories, and I look forward to hearing about their adventures when they return.
Mobile Device Policy Reminder
This is just a reminder for all Year 5 and Year 6 students that mobile phones and smart watches with connectivity are to be handed in at the Junior School Reception each morning and signed in and out daily. Thank you for your cooperation and support.

Assistant Principal: Head of Junior School
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We are now taking registrations from Junior School students who wish to compete in the 2026 Oliphant Science Awards. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to continue to develop their curiosity, problem solving skills, and creativity through hands-on science projects.
The competition is open to all students across the Junior School and while most of the project is completed at home, we will be providing support each Thursday at lunchtime in the Junior Lab. Students will hand in their projects around June/July. Specific dates to follow.
If you think this is something you can support your child with, please set aside some time to look at the different categories and their criteria, available through the Oliphant Science Awards Website:
https://www.oliphantscienceawards.com.au/event_information/award_categories
Then discuss the points below with your child and email their responses through to me.
Each project entry/registration requires a fee of $11 using the humanitix link below:

I look forward to supporting you and your child as they embark on this exciting scientific journey.
