Secondary School

Week Two has seen the Secondary School really kick into gear. Walking through the corridors, I have seen students working together in homerooms, creating posters and welcoming new students. It has also been wonderful to see students settling into their daily routines and heading to class ready to learn. After a week of orientation, the Year Seven students have now found their feet around campus and are engaging confidently in their academic program.

We have already held our Student Leaders' Induction Ceremony and we now look forward to the upcoming swimming carnivals and the Year Twelve Ball this weekend!

Student Leaders' Induction Ceremony

On Monday, we formally inducted our Year Six and Year Twelve leaders and recognised the leadership responsibilities shared by the entire Year Twelve cohort. Our Pipe Band set a wonderful tone, as they always do, and our Year Eleven contemporary music students treated us to an outstanding rendition of Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits. Watching our Year Eleven students show such courage and skill in performing one of the most iconic songs of a generation and absolutely nailing it was a real joy.

A huge thank you to all staff who helped coordinate the day and to the families for their ongoing support. It was lovely to enjoy a light lunch together after the assembly in Breaksea Boarding House with the student leaders and their families.

Camfield Day

Wow-ee, what a day! Camfield's fundraising day was a resounding success. Not only did we raise almost $2,000 ($1,924.20 to be precise) for Kosal, our Cambodian sponsor child, through our Socks and Kicks Day and cake stall, but the staff also continued their winning streak, defeating the Year Twelve students 3–0. This victory was thanks to the striking power of the "Green Machine" himself, Mr Bryce McLean, "Lucky Boot" Liam from the IT department, and "Lightning Lachie" Steytler.

Tommy "Two Socks", "Iron Boots", Isla and Esther the "Energiser Bunny" were on fire for the students, but even they could not hold back the force of the staff team.

During periods five and six, the whole school gathered for a walk around the campus and the Fish Traps. It was wonderful to see different year groups mix and enjoy our beautiful surroundings.

A huge thank you to our Camfield families for donating delicious treats for the stall and to everyone who wore their crazy socks and kicks and supported the fundraising efforts.
