🛌🏻Cebula Boarding
Boarding News
It’s been a great start to Term 2 in both the Cebula community and Mercy House at SBC. We welcomed two new Year 9 boarders from Geraldton and Tom Price respectively and were delighted to have one of our former local boarders rejoin us.
We also welcomed Angela Urbani as our Boarding nurse and it’s been wonderful to see Angela already make herself very much a part of our boarding family. Several new boarding supervisors have also joined us, and I hope to share more about them in the coming weeks.
Seven of our boarding staff took part in a Mental Health First Aid program last week and it's very comforting to know that we now have accredited Youth Mental Health First Aiders available to our boys.
The winter sports season is in full flight with well over half the boys involved in a mix of soccer, rugby, football and basketball. We are appreciative of the many day parents, coaches and managers who band together each sports season to transport the boarders to their away games across the metropolitan area.
The building program is progressing well with the slab down and more work scheduled to commence in the coming days. It was very exciting to look at colour schemes and other associated finishes recently and I’m looking forward to seeing it all come together in the coming months.
