Classroom News

This is what our students have been up to this week.

Gardening with Lucy

Last week Lucy was back into our garden beds getting them all ready and tucked in for winter.  Students from 3/4 class had an opportunity to come out and help her.  They harvested some potatoes, apples and few beans.  If you have any spare kid's size gardening gloves, watering cans, or tools to donate, please drop them off to the office.

Also as part of some gardening upgrades, thanks to Steve Gardiner, we are seeking any donations of all things fairy garden related that will be placed in our Fairy Garden play area.  If you have a garden gnome, fairy statues or mushroom ornaments that you would like to rehome please drop them off to our office with Amanda or Carolyn.

Prep/1 Class

Last week Prep/1 read the story of Anzac Ted, where a teddy supported the Anzacs during their deployment. Students learnt of the sacrifices made and the importance of Anzac Day. We made an artwork by tracing our hands and layering poppies to honour the sacrifices of Anzac Ted and the ANZACs.

On Thursday, our SRC attended Mount Beauty's Cenotaph to lay some flowers in remembrance of soliders past and present, and to pay thanks for all they have given and all that they do. This year, Class 3/4 with Kath made some lovely floral sheaths.  We thank you for the flower and garden foliage donations to make this happen.

On Friday 10th May we encourage families to enjoy a nice walk to school together. This is a great time to open up discussion on how to stay safe while walking to and from school.  If you require any further resources please go to walk.com.au

Treehouse Stories Narrator Stig

On Wednesday afternoon we were lucky enough to have a visit from Stig. Students enjoyed an oppourtuniy to get up, participate and help Stig with his antics and have a laugh.  We now know of a few students hidden "talents"
