Dear Parents,

Our whole school theme for week 3 and 4 is focussed on learning through and with others and accepting feedback. To do this we use our tool kit element of think, feel, act and building emotional regulation.

The faith element this week focusses on using the labyrinth for reflection and meditation. We have a beautiful physical asset in our school for us all to use for grounding and centering our head, heart and hands to reflect and be the best we can be.

This Friday is world labyrinth day. Why not come in and try walking the labyrinth this week to see the benefit of this amazing tool in our school!

Please read the slide show below outlining all of the important factors and research into why this is just so important in our school.

We thank all of our community who were able to attend the Anzac Day service in Crib Point. This is a significant day in our school as we respect, revere and remember our Defence Force families who continue to serve our country today along with the soldiers who did not return home.

Next Monday night we are holding a cyber safety night. In the current climate of online incidents and the impact social media is having on our students mental health I strongly recommend all parents from Prep to Year 6 attending the night. This can be accessed both by a zoom link found on the next page of the newsletter or by coming on site with school staff.

This week we highlight the upcoming Mothers Day celebrations. Our mothers and special carers are always looking out caring and nurturing every child in their care.

We celebrate their importance in the development of children and we invite all of our community to the special Mothers Day celebrations  on Friday 10th May. We will have our Mothers Day Lunch at 12pm where we invite all of our Mums, Grandmothers, Aunties and any special members of our community to a special lunch. Our student leaders will serve, we have a guest speaker and some students will be performing. Please remember to RSVP.

This will be followed by our Mothers day Mass at 2pm.

The mothers day presents will come home on this day so please remember to send your $5 per child. There will also be a number of other presents on sale at the end of the day in an extra Mothers Day stall.

Just a reminder that all students must be in full St Joseph’s uniform every day. This includes shoes, socks, hair ties and coats. Uniforms are a great way to celebrate and belong in our school and it is most important that the uniform code is worn every day in the correct way. We do have some funds for shoes so please let me know if you need a hand to ensure your child is wearing the correct shoes.

This week we have  Somers Pre school sharing learning with our 3/4 community in the Sea is our Best Friend program. We look forward to connecting with our feeder pre- schools and day cares as we strive to be an outward reaching school with strong partnerships and a high focus on our community.

We are so proud of all we are doing to be passionate ambassadors of  our magnificient earth.

Take time to listen to Harlow and Yasmin on a recent podcast with Two Bays- superstar scientists in action!

Enrolments are open for 2025. Please promote our wonderful school to anyone in our community. We have our Open days coming up so please pass the invite on. There are fliers being sent home soon and if you can distribute any fliers in our community please let us know.

Finally, come along on Thursday to our cross country. All students from Prep to Year 6 will be running  and we look forward to a great event commencing at 11.30am.

Yours in Partnership,

Gab
