Principal's Report

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to all staff and students after the Term One break! It's been an absolute pleasure getting to know every one of you since I arrived as principal. Your warm welcome has made my transition into this role incredibly smooth, and I am truly grateful for your support and kindness.

Mobile Phones

As per the Department of Education’s mobile phone policy, all student phones need to be switched off and stored securely during school hours. At Macedon Primary School, we kindly ask that all student mobile phones are handed into the office each morning before the start of school. This policy ensures a focused and productive learning environment for all students.

School Review

This year marks the conclusion of our current school strategic plan. Looking ahead, we are gearing up for a comprehensive review during Terms 3 and 4. It’s an exciting opportunity for us to reflect on our achievements, identify areas for improvement, and set our course for the future. We will be seeking feedback from families later in the year. Your input will be invaluable in shaping the next phase of our school’s journey, and I encourage each of you to actively participate in this process when the opportunity arises. Together, we can ensure that our school continues to thrive and evolve to meet the needs of our students and community.

Assembly fortnightly

A reminder that we are moving to fortnightly assemblies this term. The first assembly will take place this Friday the 19th of April at 3:00pm in the JCB (John Curtin Building). The dates for the assemblies this term are below:

19th April

3rd May

17th May

31st May

14th June

Pupil Free Day

Friday, April 26th, will be a Pupil Free Day. Teachers will be engaging in professional development activities including learning about the new Mathematics curriculum that needs to be fully implemented in 2025, conducting pre-work for our School review, as well as exploring assessment techniques that can be utilised in the classroom. This day is crucial for our staff to enhance their skills and knowledge, ultimately benefitting the learning experiences of our students.

Wishing everyone a successful and productive Term 2 ahead!

Warm regards,

Andrew Bloomfield
